Fitz : Hello everyone. In behalf of 199Jobs, I’d like to open this Q&A thread wherein you can ask your questions about blog post topic development and article writing problems.
In here, you can ask your questions like, “How can I come up with a good blog post topic?” or “How do I make sure I don’t run out of topics to write about?” or “How do I improve my writing skills?” and other related concerns that you may have as a blogger.
Then, I and hopefully others as well, will answer your questions so you can improve your skills as a blogger.
Fitz : Since nobody’s asking questions yet, I’ll share a tip.
I remember a few weeks ago, someone asked me how to become a better writer. My tip is simple… “Read more and write more.”
Read more articles and blog posts related to your niche. And do your best to write as often as you can because as they say, practice makes perfect.
AskPB Member : Sa tutuo lang ang talagang problema ko sa pagsusulat eh di ako ganun kagaling pagdating sa englisan kaya wala rin akong maitanong.
Fitz : pwede naman magtanong ng tagalog! hehe… pero pagdating sa pag-improve ng English… reading more and writing more is really the best way to do it.

Fitz : maganda nga yun na may critic ka sa English, that way, you know if you’re making a mistake… just don’t take it personally. If they start attacking you as a person (and not your grammar), the rule is ignore, delete and ban
AskPB Member : may rules o guide ba para sa magandang article title? ung makakaattract ng readers, ung pagkabasa pa lang nila eh mapapaclick na sila
Fitz : there are a lot of guidelines out there on how to write seductive headlines… personally, i practice 4 strategies:
- Scare your audience
- Promise a solution
- Name-Drop A Brand or Celebrity
- Point Out a Mistake
Of course, the classic list headlines and “how to” titles also work well.

Fitz : it will help if your every article is optimized for search engines and/or social media
what i do, sinusulat ko muna ang gusto kong isulat. tapos itatanong ko sa sarili ko, paano ko ito gusto ma-discover ng tao.
kung gusto ko maging viral sa facebook, gagawin kong seductive ang headline
kung gusto ko mataas ang rank sa search engines, dun ko pa lang siya i-optimize by inserting keywords in the title and inside the post but making sure that the original message / story of the post is not compromised
lastly, kung ang isinulat ko naman ay para lang sa sarili ko at wala akong pakialam kung basahin siya ng iba, then i just click publish after writing

maalam ako sa programming, marami akong pwedeng isulat tungkol jan…posibleng hindi ako maubusan…pero may topic na ang daling hanapin sa net, kaunting research lang may maisusulat ka na, tapos ang taas pa ng earnings ng topic na yun kung imomonetize mo ung sinusulat mo, di ka rin mauubusan ng isusulat tungkol dun kasi nga marami sa net, yun nga lang, di ka maalam pagdating sa topic na un…

Fitz : mas maganda isulat ang topic na marami kang alam, pero kailangan mo din isipin kung para kanino ba yung isusulat mo at paano mo sila mahahanap
the best niche blog should be focused and more importantly, it helps a particular audience solve a very painful problem that they have – a niche blog is not an online magazine, but a single-topic microsite
lastly, para hindi ka mawalan ng ideas na isusulat, isa sa mga ginagawa ko eh yung i-save sa cellphone notepad ko yung blog post ideas ko pag may bigla akong naisip… minsan kasi, dumadating lang yan habang may iba kang ginagawa
Fitz : two steps:
- ask yourself who is your target audience
- ask them what their problems and concerns are with regards to real estate
their answers are your blog post topics
Example, one of the problems of potential home buyers is knowing if an area is flood prone… so possible blog posts are:
- “Tell-tale signs that an area goes underwater when there’s a storm.”
- “The history of flooding in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.”
- “Most affected areas due to flooding by typhoon Mario”

Curious ako sa pic that you are using for this thread, it’s a blurred pic with a quote overlay, is it okay to do that? Or are those blurred pics yours or you bought them? are the creative commons for the pics you use available or free (forgot the term T_T)? I want to try doing that for my articles and fanpage too. Salamat po!
Fitz : those are royalty-free photos which you can download in stock photography sites like istockphoto and dreamstime and many others. I download the free low res versions and samples because i’m gonna blur them anyway. When you use creative common photos, you need to give credit to the photo owner.

Salamat sa post po ninyo. I’ve been working as a content writer and sometimes I go trough difficult times on what kind of content should I write. I agree with you, read more and write more. Pang-pa inspire and practice din yan. Content writing need lots of practice for one to be better on doing it.
